HOW THE CAPTAINS WERE CHOSEN & WHY?

The Captains were chosen by Directors of their respective teams because of their work within Disability and Adaptative Golf. Its important that The Cairns Cup family have people involved who are prepared to go the extra mile and willing to help others…

TEAM USA CAPTAIN

KIM MOORE

Kim is from Ft. Wayne, Indiana and currently resides in Battle Creek, Michigan. Kim was born without a right foot and a severely clubbed left foot as well as a slight case of spina-bifida. She grew up in a very sports-oriented family and participated in many sports. Kim was introduced to golf at the age of 16 and it quickly became her passion.

Kim played college golf at the University of Indianapolis and played professionally on the Futures Golf Tour before getting her Class “A” PGA Teaching Professional certificate in 2012. She is currently the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Western Michigan University.

Kim has participated in many adaptive tournaments around the world. Kim is the 15-time US National Amputee Women’s Golf Champion and just recently won the 1st USGA Adaptive Open at Pinehurst, No. 6 in July of 2022.

TEAM EUROPE CAPTAIN

Tineke Loogman

Tineke was born in Amsterdam with “one and a half arm” having very encouraging parents along with very supportive husband Ger of 40 years.
Tineke didn’t start playing golf until the age of 40 and was soon hooked on the game resulting in starting a golf complex and getting involved with disabled golf in the Netherlands and with EDGA.
