Seated golfer Steve Doudt joins team USA

Steve from Indiana is the latest recruit heading to Cherry Creek. Having served in the USAF 1721st Combat Control Squadron, Special Operations Team Fayetteville, NC from 1987 to 1993 before he was medically discharged since then he has been involved in the following:
- 1994 – 2000 Indiana Pacers wheelchair basketball team
- 1995 – 2000 USA Sitting Volleyball Team, Paralympics ‘96, ‘00
- 2000 – 2018 NCAA collegiate wheelchair basketball official
- 2018 – present GOLF
After retiring from officiating basketball, Steve was introduced and fell in love with the game of golf. In a short time of 4 yrs. there’s been a consistent improvement in his game.

- 2020 Michigan Amputee Association – 3rd place
- 2020 Midwest Amputee Golf Association – 2nd
- 2021 GSGA Adaptive tournament – 3rd
- 2021 Michigan Amputee Association – 2nd
- 2022 Michigan Amputee Association – 1st
- 2022 Indiana Adaptive tournament – 1st
Having been introduced to the PGA Hope program which accelerated his learning of the game of golf. Steve thrives on helping others, especially veterans, who learn the game from an adaptive standpoint.
“I truly feel that my presence on the golf course is inspiring to many people. I am constantly telling people about my experiences and how I got started in adaptive golf. It has opened new avenues of friendships, camaraderie, fun and exercise.” he said
Steve continued “To be a part of Team USA in the Cairns Cup representing the United States is a passion I’ve always had. I have represented USA many times before, I never thought I would get another opportunity. However, thank you, Kim Moore, for the invite to play on the 2024 team at Cherry Creek. I look forward to getting ready and playing some good golf and having lots of fun!”
