Derek is from Leven and plays his club golf at Charleton Golf Club.

He plays disabled golf with SDGC, BIG & TSG and has had 22 wins including being Scottish Champion in 2010 and OOM winner in 2010 & 2015.

He has 8 international caps with Scotland & Europe resulting in winning Auld Enemies 3 times and phoenix Cup twice. Derek runs a cattery and is a foster carer in his spare time apart from golf he plays darts and walks his dogs
