KELSEY KOCH JOINS TEAM USA

Kelsey Koch Cairns Cup player

We would like to welcome Kelsey Koch from Grand Blanc, MI to The Cairns Cup representing Team USA

“To be asked to represent the USA in the 2024 Cairns Cup is not an opportunity I take lightly. I will work hard to make sure that both myself and our team are ready come next July.” Kelsey said

Kelsey was missing my tibia bone at birth, which led to an amputation at eleven months.

She was given a through the knee amputation, but due to the doctor that did the procedure passing away two days later in a horseback riding accident, there are no surgical notes.

She explained she lives a blessed life as an amputee, not knowing any different and not wanting too either.

Kelsey went on to say “Everything has started to come full circle for me, the yogi in me always says, it’s not what you do on that course, it’s who you are off the course that’s important”.

“This life isn’t easy for any of us, but once we learn how to adapt and believe in ourselves, we are capable of whatever we set our mind to, and above all else, let us not disable our spirit”

She is looking forward to representing the USA with Kim as her captain.

Kelsey quoted “The team are in the best of hands, and I am excited to see who else joins our team. Finally, let’s have fun, play our game, and keep the trophy on this side of the pond”.

Kelsey also coaches for area 13 Special Olympics, she owns Serenity Yoga, coaches golf and teach Parkinson’s yoga for Ascension Genesys Health Club, plus she helps run Flint Junior Golf Association here in Genesee County.
